Occupational Therapy

Specialized and holistic program

tailored for children and young adults.

Occupational Therapy at The Passion Hub is a specialized and holistic program tailored for children and young adults. Through individualized one-to-one and group therapy sessions, we create a supportive and nurturing environment where each participant can develop their physical, cognitive, social and emotional skills. Our therapists are trained to identify and address specific neurodevelopmental difficulties, helping individuals overcome obstacles and reach their fullest potential. Our team adopts a wide range of evidence-based approaches, including Ayres Sensory Integration (ASI), Neurodevelopmental Treatment (NDT), trauma-informed practice, primitive reflex integration, functional vision training, social cognition and motor skills training, to address diverse needs effectively.

Let’s hear more

What we specialize in

Ayres Sensory Integration

Ayres Sensory Integration improves sensory processing and integration in individuals, focusing on effective responses to sensory information. Developed by Dr. A. Jean Ayres, it involves play-like activities that challenge and support the child. This approach addresses sensory challenges, enhances functional skills, emotional regulation, and adaptive behavior. It benefits those with sensory processing, autism spectrum, and neurodevelopmental conditions, improving daily tasks, motor skills, and social interactions.

Trauma informed practice

Trauma-informed practice in occupational therapy for children and young adults involves creating a safe and supportive therapeutic environment that acknowledges the potential impact of trauma on an individual's well-being. Occupational therapists employ sensitive and compassionate approaches to address trauma-related challenges and support the healing process. By fostering trust, providing choices, and promoting empowerment, trauma-informed practice helps individuals rebuild a sense of control, resilience, and emotional regulation.

Primitive reflex integration

Primitive reflex integration is a therapeutic process that helps address retained primitive reflexes are reflexes that should have disappeared in infancy but persist into later stages of development. Through targeted exercises and activities, we facilitate the brain's reorganization and maturation. As a result, individuals can develop improved motor control, coordination, and overall functional abilities, enhancing their adaptability and development.

Functional vision

Functional vision refers to the effective use of visual skills in daily activities. In occupational therapy, functional vision training involves interventions and exercises that aim to improve visual perception, eye coordination, vestibulo-occular response and visual-motor skills. Through targeted activities, individuals can enhance their ability to interpret and process visual information, leading to better performance in tasks like reading, writing, and navigating the environment.

Motor skills training

Motor skills training in occupational therapy encompasses both gross and fine motor skill development. Gross motor skills involve large movements, such as walking and jumping, while fine motor skills involve precise movements, like using utensils or tying shoelaces. Fine motor skills involve hand strength, dexterity, and coordination.
